Give a brief history of yourself:
These are chameleon elements of my new Djette world, where Dr. Jekyll meets Mrs. Hyde. My rule is: you can’t judge by what’s visible; the world you see by day isn't the same once night has fallen. What alchemical element changes us? Music, of course.
Entrepeneur and business woman by day, Mrs. Blythe trades in her blackberry and Rykiel suits at night for her turntables and glam-rock style.
Flashback: "Back to the start, back to the past."
2004: Aurelia aka Mrs. Blythe creates French Cancan, an artists' collective (and label) whose members include videographers, Vjs, Djs, musicians and other performance artists from the scenes in Paris, New York, Berlin and Tokyo. She creates, produces and oversees the musical selection for a DVD, "Urban Sessions Paris", in collaboration with renowned Vjs, like Milosh and eMovie, and Parisian labels like Versatile, Fcom, Blue Notes and Initial Cut. The DVD has been widely covered by Metro Londres, Icon Londres, Tecknickart, Ideat, Zurban, Le Monde, Pink TV and FG DJ radio; available for sale in Paris, London and Dubai.
2005/2006: Aurelia creates and organizes original performances in fashionable spots. The first, "Shop in the Mix" at Galeries Lafayette in Paris is the first live DJ and VJ experience to be done in a Paris shop window, partnered by FG DJ radio and VJs and Djs like Dax Riders, Outlines, Patrick Vidal, Milosh and eMovie. It's a huge success, and next year Galeries Lafayette gives her a free pass to create a new event for "Bêtes De Mode" ; this time, « The Trendy Fashion Show », a live performance using artists (including burlesque performers, DJs, Make up artists …) in their largest window. At the end of 2006, she works with the concept store LEE for their Christmas shows, creating amongst other projects the first live band performance (the group FEE) in a shop window.
Now known for her unusual ideas and her nose for new talents, Aurelia works on musical and visual programming and selection, for brands like Mini, Hugo Boss, Pernod, Alice and Lancel.
2007: Pushed by artist friends —who saw her taste develop—to start mixing, Aurelia masters the turntables by working with the heads of DJ collective Electro-Baroque, « Les Truies Galantes » (also founders of Techno-Parade). Since then, she’s been seen mixing regularly at private parties, small clubs and hip bars. She brings a certified dance party with carefully selected mix of electro and indie rock.
2008: Mrs. Blythe is regularly featured by DJs and collectives such as « Les Truies Galantes », during its monthly residence at Yono (a hip bar in the Marais district in Paris), Barockism during its residence for the new Tapio Ka Tea Dance at Social Club (new Parisian club), the sexy and classy Booby trap girls in LA, etc...
But, why Mrs. Blythe? Oh yes: the Blythes. Little vintage dolls, made in the USA, photographed in their various sexy outfits around the world. Since Aurelia, with her baby face and dress, rather resembles a Blythe, her friends christened her « la Blythe »…and Mrs. Blythe for the night out.
Discover, listen…and move.
